Hacks & Hops Conference Welcomes Arin Brown

Written by Wendi Breuer, President & CEO | Oct 12, 2021 2:00:00 PM

Each year, the Hacks & Hops conference gathers Information Security professionals to discuss key industry issues. On October 14, our Chief Technology Officer, Arin Brown, will hit the (virtual) stage as one of 12 industry experts chosen to speak in 2021.

In his presentation, How to Build a Security Program from the Ground Up, Arin will explore what companies should be doing to keep their data and systems safe. “In the security industry, there are a lot of tools and gadgets companies can buy. But if they haven’t done the basics, they can be left with gaping holes,” he says.

Arin will discuss those essentials and best practices employed at SeaChange and explain how industry-standard frameworks such as NIST CSF and ISO 27002 can help companies build a strong foundation including industry-leading IS policies and procedures.

As a printer and digital marketing solutions provider, we deal with a lot of sensitive client data every day, especially in the financial and healthcare industries and when printing checks and ballots. That exposure has made Arin well versed in a wide range of industry requirements for data security, and it’s led to SeaChange earning consistent HITRUST Certifications, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and completing annual SOC2 and PCI-DSS audits.

“We brought Arin on board because we knew he had the expertise to build an Information Security program and put infrastructure and processes in place that would make us confident our customers’ data is secure and safe. He implemented our robust IS program in record time including earning a HITRUST certification within six months – a feat accomplished 3-4 times faster than others in our industry have done.” says CEO and President Wendi Breuer.

In a world where budgets, timelines, and labor requirements can result in less-than-ideal outcomes, Wendi and the whole SeaChange team’s commitment to doing the right thing has guided our Information Security approach since day one. It’s an approach that Arin believes others can learn from.
